Born in London, England, on 14 January 1974, to an English mother and Italian father, Lawrence Jacomelli is an award-winning commercials director with over 500 films to his name. Over the past two decades, he has created standout campaigns for global brands including British Airways, IKEA, Carlsberg, Burger King, KFC, Pepsi, General Motors, Lexus, and Toyota, as well as powerful public-service films for charities such as Multiple Sclerosis, Anti Drink and Drive, and Car Safety Belts.
A natural storyteller, Lawrence built his reputation on capturing raw, truthful performances — a focus that gives his work its emotional precision and humanity. His work has been widely recognised, winning multiple awards including Cannes Lions, Eurobest, Epica, Drum, Lynx, and Brand Film Awards.
In 2024, Lawrence made his feature debut with BLOOD STAR a desert-noir road movie co-written and produced with his wife and creative partner, Victoria Taylor, based on her short story Don’t Look Back. Shot over ten days on location in Palmdale in California, the production showcased Lawrence’s trademark discipline and precision — every frame meticulously pre-visualised through storyboards and animation to enable creative freedom on set whist still working to a tight schedule.
Blood Star premiered at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival in Switzerland, followed by its UK premiere at Grimmfest and US premiere at Cinequest. The film has been acquired by Plaion for UK release and will be distributed in the United States by Quiver this Thanksgiving, 2025.
As a TV commercials director he has shot for leading advertising agencies and many household brands in markets all over the world.
In 2018 he shot a 20 minute pilot for Sci-Fi Horror/Thriller “The Scent”. From here Lawrence set upon writing a low budget movie with writer Victoria Taylor. Together they wrote and produced Blood Star, which was shot on location in California in just 10 days.
