Who Is Edd in Blood Star?

Edd is part of the isolated desert community through which Bobbi’s journey takes her.

Like many of the supporting characters in Blood Star, he exists in a world where everybody seems to know one another and where the authority of Sheriff Bilstein has become part of everyday life. That creates an important tension for Bobbi: she is an outsider trying to understand a place where the normal rules of trust no longer seem reliable.

Edd helps give that world texture. He is not simply there to move the plot forward; his presence makes the town feel inhabited, established and believable, which in turn makes Bobbi’s isolation more unsettling.
