Britni Camacho
Bobbi Torres
Britni Camacho leads the film as Bobbi Torres, a young petty thief travelling alone across the New Mexico desert.
Streetwise, impulsive and fiercely independent, Bobbi is already running from the consequences of her past when she crosses paths with Sheriff Bilstein. What begins as a seemingly routine encounter develops into a brutal game of pursuit in which her instincts become her greatest means of survival.
Camacho carries much of the film through a physically and emotionally demanding performance, capturing both Bobbi’s vulnerability and her refusal to be controlled. The character is neither a conventional hero nor a passive victim. She is resourceful, flawed and forced to discover how far she is prepared to go to survive.
John Schwab
Sheriff Bilstein
John Schwab plays Sheriff Bilstein, a small-town lawman who treats his badge as a licence to intimidate and prey upon vulnerable women.
Bilstein’s menace comes not only from the violence he is capable of, but from the authority he represents. He understands how to manipulate a situation, isolate his victims and make their word appear powerless against his own.
Schwab plays the sheriff with an unsettling combination of control, charm and casual cruelty. His performance transforms Bilstein from a conventional pursuer into a figure who embodies the film’s central fear: what happens when the person entrusted to enforce the law becomes its greatest threat.
Sydney Brumfield
Amy
Sydney Brumfield plays Amy, a young waitress whose life becomes unexpectedly entangled with Bobbi’s flight across the desert.
Amy offers Bobbi a glimpse of companionship and escape, but she is also caught within the same landscape of control and intimidation. Her encounter with Bobbi briefly shifts the film from solitary pursuit towards the possibility that the two women may be able to help one another.
Travis Lincoln Cox
Ed
Travis Lincoln Cox plays Ed, the owner of an isolated roadside business that becomes one of Bobbi’s few potential places of refuge.
In a world where Bobbi cannot easily distinguish between safety and danger, Ed represents another uncertain presence along the highway. His scenes contribute to the film’s atmosphere of isolation, where every stranger must be assessed before they can be trusted.
Felix Merback
Blake
Felix Merback appears as Blake, a figure connected to Bobbi’s life before her journey through the desert.
Blake’s presence helps reveal the circumstances from which Bobbi is attempting to escape and the destructive relationships that have shaped her instinct for survival.
Wyomi Reed
The First Victim
Wyomi Reed appears as the sheriff’s first victim, establishing the threat at the centre of the story before Bobbi encounters it herself.
Her appearance reveals that Bilstein’s pursuit is not an isolated act. It is part of a pattern that has been allowed to continue in a place where distance, silence and authority make his victims easy to erase.

Lawrence Jacomelli
Director, Co-Writer and Producer
Blood Star marks Lawrence Jacomelli’s feature-film directorial debut.
Before moving into long-form narrative filmmaking, Jacomelli built his career directing commercials and branded films internationally. That background informed the film’s strongly visual approach, using precise compositions, wide desert landscapes and tightly controlled camera movement to create a contemporary thriller influenced by the American road movies of the 1970s.
Working with a small independent crew and a limited shooting schedule, Jacomelli approached the film as a stripped-back exercise in tension, character and visual storytelling. The desert is treated not simply as a backdrop, but as an active part of the threat: beautiful, exposed and almost impossible to escape.
Jacomelli also produced the film and co-wrote the screenplay with Victoria Taylor and George Kelly.
Victoria Taylor
Story, Co-Writer and Producer
Victoria Taylor originated the story behind Blood Star and co-wrote and produced the film.
Her work helped shape Bobbi as a complicated female protagonist whose strength does not come from physical power or conventional heroism, but from intelligence, experience and an ability to adapt under pressure.
As a producer, Taylor was involved in developing the project from its earliest stages and bringing together the British and American production elements required to make an independent feature in the California desert.
George Kelly
Co-Writer
George Kelly co-wrote the screenplay with Lawrence Jacomelli and Victoria Taylor.
The screenplay combines the forward momentum of a road movie with the escalating tension of a psychological survival thriller. Its central conflict develops through a series of encounters in which the balance of control between Bobbi and the sheriff continually shifts.
Pascal Combes-Knoke

Cinematographer Pascal Combes-Knoke created the film’s stark desert imagery.
The cinematography contrasts vast, sun-bleached landscapes with enclosed roadside interiors, using the apparent freedom of the open highway to emphasise Bobbi’s isolation. The visual language draws upon classic American road cinema, westerns and 1970s thrillers while retaining the immediacy of a contemporary independent film.
Felix Lindsell-Hales
Composer
Felix Lindsell-Hales composed the original score for Blood Star.
The music works alongside the film’s sound design to build a persistent sense of unease, moving between restrained atmospheric passages and more forceful moments as Bobbi’s situation intensifies.
The score supports the film without overwhelming its quieter stretches, allowing silence, machinery, distant vehicles and the surrounding desert environment to become part of the tension.

Blood Star was produced by Beast Branded Content, Fastback Films and Traplight Pictures as a British-American independent production. Its principal creative team combined filmmakers from the United Kingdom and the United States, with production taking place in the California desert.
Made with a small crew and a tightly controlled schedule, the film reflects the collaborative nature of independent filmmaking. Every department worked within the same visual and dramatic framework: to create a lean, atmospheric road thriller in which character, landscape, sound and tension were inseparable.
